## The posting

Senior Manager, Product Design - Security
Datadog · Madrid, Spain; Paris, France

The Datadog Security design team (K9 Design, as we lovingly call it) is hiring a senior product design manager to lead design across our security products. This is a chance to shape an industry-leading experience for a new kind of Datadog user: security practitioners who need to catch threats where they start, stop them when they land, and shut down exposures before they turn into something worse.

You'll lead a team of designers at various stages of their careers across cloud, code and data security, turning an overwhelming amount of signal into something a security team can act on. The goal: build the security product people want to spend their day in. You'll own the design, push for excellence, and partner closely with Product and Engineering leadership to get there.

_At Datadog, we place value in our office culture - the relationships and collaboration it builds and the creativity it brings to the table. We operate as a hybrid workplace to ensure our Datadogs can create a work-life harmony that best fits them._

## What you’ll do

- Lead design direction across your team's products, and hold the bar for design excellence end to end: interactions, visual detail, consistency and cohesion.
- You're in the work. Run critiques, give direct and useful feedback, and push the team toward bolder, more opinionated solutions rather than safe ones.
- Coach and grow designers across our Paris, Madrid and New York offices, helping each of them do the best work of their careers.
- Help define a security design system built on top of Datadog's existing components, with the security practitioner's workflows in mind.
- Partner with Product and Engineering leaders to evolve cross-platform thinking, shape roadmaps, and to set how the three disciplines work together day to day.
- Take accountability for the product and business outcomes your team's design work influences.
- Bring AI fluency to how your team works, from how design gets explored and validated to how it gets shipped.

## Who you are

- 10+ years in design, including experience leading and growing high-performing teams.
- A design leader first: a user advocate with a sharp eye for detail, strong taste and the willingness to get into the work and give direct feedback.
- A track record of leveling up a team's output, with before-and-after examples of how your leadership transformed the design of a product.
- You've led complex products or features: a zero-to-one launch, a reimagining of something established, or both.
- A strong communicator who collaborates effectively with executive and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Able to demonstrate AI fluency, either in your own work or in how you've led teams through it.
- Comfortable navigating the technical complexity of modern software development and cloud infrastructure.
- **Ideally**: security domain experience, or a portfolio of information-dense, data-rich interfaces. Industry-leading work on complex B2B, B2C or consumer products counts for just as much here.

## Benefits and Growth

- Product training to develop an in-depth understanding of our product and space
- Continuous career development and pathing opportunities for internal mobility
- Intradepartmental mentor and buddy program for in-house networking
- An inclusive company culture, ability to join our Community Guilds (Datadog employee resource groups)
- New hire stock equity (RSUs) and employee stock
