Digital Integration Engineer (Digital Mockup (DMU) Management)
Position Summary
Digital Integration Engineering team is part of the Global Product Operation (GPO) Organization. The Digital Integration Engineer manage and own the development, integration, governance, and validation of complex digital product models that enable virtual product development across the entire product lifecycle. This role partners closely with Systems Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Manufacturing, Service, and other cross-functional teams, leveraging advanced CAD, PLM, and Model-Based Engineering methodologies to identify, analyze, and resolve design, integration, and manufacturability challenges early in the development process. Through digital product definition and validation, this role reduces program risk, improves product quality, lowers development costs, and accelerates time-to-market.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the creation, management, and validation of enterprise Digital Mockups (DMUs) and Master Assembly structures using Siemens NX, PTC Creo, or equivalent CAD/DMU platforms.
Develop and support digital product structures, subsystem architectures, graphical BOMs, configuration variants, and enterprise product definitions throughout the product lifecycle.
Manage Relational Layout Models (RLMs) and support the implementation of Knowledge-Based Engineering (KBE) methodologies to improve design efficiency and standardization.
Execute and lead virtual product validation activities, including:
Clash and interference analysis
Design for Manufacturability (DFM)
Design for Assembly (DFA)
Serviceability, maintainability, and installation reviews
Support Engineering Change Management (ECM) and Configuration Management processes, ensuring digital continuity and alignment across As-Designed, As-Planned, and As-Built product definitions.
Drive early identification and resolution of product integration, packaging, manufacturability, and serviceability issues across multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Present DMU maturity assessments, integration status, technical risks, mitigation strategies, and recommendations to program leadership and key stakeholders.
Support and enable Service, Safety, Training, and other functional organizations in effectively leveraging DMU structures to meet operational, maintenance, readiness, and business goals.
Contribute to Digital Twin, Model-Based Engineering, Virtual Reality (VR), and Augmented Reality (AR) initiatives that enhance product development and lifecycle support capabilities.
